Peanut Butter Banana Cups

Peanut Butter Banana Cups

Posted 2014-05-22 by Kate Matefollow
Just like Reece's peanut butter cups only I think these are better. With the addition of banana it takes peanut butter cups to a whole new level.

Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 15 minutes set in the fridge time
Makes: 6 -8

Ingredients
1 and 1/2 cups of dark cooking chocolate
1 banana
Reece's or any American brand smooth peanut butter
Sprinkles (optional)

Method
  • Slice banana making them thin, too thick and you will need a lot of chocolate to cover and it will be hard to bite into.
  • Get your mini muffin tin ready placing mini cupcake papers in each one
  • Melt chocolate over a double boiler
  • When melted add a little chocolate into the base of each one and brush some up the sides 1/2 way. Using the back of the spoon usually works.
  • When all have been filled place in the fridge to set for 5 minutes.
  • Now that they are set place about 1 teaspoon of peanut butter into each and a piece of banana on top.
  • Cover with more chocolate, making sure the whole thing is covered.
  • Melt more chocolate as required if you need more to finish covering the cups.
  • When I make these I like to do some with just peanut butter. For those times I like to put sprinkles on one kind so I can tell which is which.
  • Place back in the fridge for at least 10 minutes or until set completely.
  • These will keep in the fridge. They are a favourite in my house so they never last more than 2 days so I am not sure how long the banana will keep without turning brown.
  • How good do these look
