This is a rich, decadent treat to drizzle over ice cream or make in to hot chocolate or eat by the spoon full. Prepare Peppermint Fudge Sauce as an edible gift for any choco-holics and I'm sure they will love you forever. This recipe makes around two medium sized jars of chocolate heaven and you could leave the peppermint essential oil out if you wish, or use peppermint (or even vanilla) extract as an alternative flavoring.
Ingredients 1 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup golden syrup
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
2/3 cup thickened cream
6 drops peppermint essential oil
2 sterilized glass jars (if making into gifts)
Ingredients for peppermint fudge sauce
Melt the unsalted butter and the brown sugar in a saucepan over medium heat.
Melt the chocolate chips in a saucepan
Add the chocolate chips, cocoa, golden syrup and the thickened cream.
Add the peppermint when all ingredients are combined
When all the ingredients are combined, add the peppermint essential oil and turn off the heat.
Pour the sauce into sterilized jars
Once your delicious Peppermint Fudge Sauce has cooled slightly, pour it carefully into two sterilized glass jars, seal them and decorate them with ribbons and labels, if you're making them into edible gifts or eat straight away and enjoy this decadent treat..
