Pisang Goreng (Indonesian-Style Banana Fritters)

Pisang Goreng means fried banana and is a popular Indonesian street snack. It is made of sweet ripe banana, dipped in batter and deep-fried until crispy and golden. These banana fritters are so easy to make and they are a great snack or dessert for the family and kids.

Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 10-15 minutes
Makes: 8 pieces

4 ducasse banana, peeled, cut into half lengthwise

For the Batter
85g rice flour
Pinch of salt
1 tsp vanilla essence
150ml water

Make the batter by mixing all the ingredients in a bowl.

In a frying pan, heat enough oil to deep fry the banana.

Dip the banana in the batter then carefully drop into the hot oil and fry until both sides are crispy and golden brown.

Transfer the fried banana to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil. Serve immediately.
