Plum Crumble
Crumble can be such a comfort food and it is a fantastic way to use up extra stone fruit you may have in the kitchen, such as plums. You could serve this as a dessert or even for a healthy breakfast.
This plum crumble disappeared ever so quickly in our household and it tasted very delicious, so here it is for your viewing pleasure.
with a dollop of yoghurt
Preparation Time: 50 minutes
Cooking Time: 35 minutes
Makes: 4 servings
Ingredients
8 plums (any variety)
1/2 cup oats
1/2 cup ground almond meal
1/2 cup dessicated coconut
1/2 cup caster sugar
50 grams softened butter
Method
Combine oats, ground almond meal, dessicated coconut, caster sugar, and softened butter. Rub together with your fingertips, until it resembles "crumble" (sticking together in clumps).
Dry ingredients
In the meantime, gently cook the sliced and pitted plums in a saucepan until they are soft.
Juicy plums
Pour softened plums into a baking dish.
Sprinkle plums with oat crumble mixture.
Bake for approximately 35 minutes in a moderate oven, or until the crumble topping turns golden brown on top.
Crumble going in the oven
Serve warm with a dollop of yoghurt or thickened cream or ice cream. Enjoy.
