Plum Crumble

Crumble can be such a comfort food and it is a fantastic way to use up extra stone fruit you may have in the kitchen, such as plums. You could serve this as a dessert or even for a healthy breakfast.
This plum crumble disappeared ever so quickly in our household and it tasted very delicious, so here it is for your viewing pleasure.

with a dollop of yoghurt


Preparation Time: 50 minutes
Cooking Time: 35 minutes
Makes: 4 servings

Ingredients
8 plums (any variety)
1/2 cup oats
1/2 cup ground almond meal
1/2 cup dessicated coconut
1/2 cup caster sugar
50 grams softened butter

Method
  • Combine oats, ground almond meal, dessicated coconut, caster sugar, and softened butter. Rub together with your fingertips, until it resembles "crumble" (sticking together in clumps).

  • Dry ingredients


  • In the meantime, gently cook the sliced and pitted plums in a saucepan until they are soft.

  • Juicy plums


  • Pour softened plums into a baking dish.

  • Sprinkle plums with oat crumble mixture.

  • Bake for approximately 35 minutes in a moderate oven, or until the crumble topping turns golden brown on top.

  • Crumble going in the oven


  • Serve warm with a dollop of yoghurt or thickened cream or ice cream. Enjoy.
