Pork Dumplings in Chili Vinegar Sauce
Dumplings are my favorite kind of effortless last minute meals. So this is a recipe on how to best cook your dumplings. The technique is very similar to cooking fresh pasta with a few unique tips.
You can pre-make your dumplings or use frozen dumplings for this recipe. Boiling dumplings are much healthier than pan-fried version.
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 10 minutes
Makes: 4 servings
Ingredients
40
Pre-made dumplings or
frozen dumplings .
1 tablespoon
soy sauce
1/2 tablespoon
black rice vinegar
1/4 chili sauce
Method
Use a large pot and fill it up with water. Bring it to a boil over high heat.
(Tip: The bigger the pot the better, your dumplings need to have room to twirl and turn without squashing one and another.)
Add 10-12 dumplings each time.
Do not defrost the dumplings or you will face a messy sticky dough.
Give the dumplings a little gentle stir so that they don't stick to the bottom of the pot.
When the water boils again, the dumplings will afloat to the top.
Add a little bit of cold water and let it come back to a boil.
Cooked dumplings should be slightly transparent.
Remove the dumplings from the pot with a strainer.
Be careful not to place the dumplings on top of each other or they will stick together.
To make the dumpling sauce, add soy sauce, vinegar and chilli in a small bowl. Mix well together.
Serve the pork dumplings with dumpling sauce for dipping.
Garnish with fresh coriander herbs (optional) .
Enjoy while the dumplings are piping hot.
A moreish delicious snack meal within minutes.
