Poutine
This dish originated in Quebec Canada. Originally, it was a snack composed of fries, cheese curd, and gravy.
In this dish I substituted cheddar cheese instead of cheese curds and bacon bits was also added for flavor and crunch.
Preparation Time: 10 mins
Cooking Time: 15 mins
Serves: 1-2
Ingredients
500 ml canola oil
250 g frozen fries
10 g bacon bits
10 g grated cheese
1 pinch parsley
10 g butter
10 g all-purpose flour
120 ml beef stock
1 pinch salt
1 pinch ground black pepper
Method
In a pan, melt the butter.
Add the flour and whisk it well.
Add the beef stock and the salt and black pepper.
Whisk it until smooth.
Deep-fry the fries in a pan with canola oil until golden brown and then transfer them to a plate.
Pour the gravy on top, add the bacon bits and grated cheese.
Garnish it with parsley.
Serve.
