A while ago my mum directed me to some recipes for cauliflower pizza bases
. The cauliflower bases
are a very clever way to make pizza healthier and less calorific, but I had just one little problem with them: they taste like cauliflower. Now that is not a problem if you like cauliflower, but if like me, you detest the stuff, it's not so good.
I therefore decided to go for a slightly more traditional pizza base that integrates the cauliflower into it. In this recipe you get an extra portion of veggies, but without the cauliflower taste.
A 'pizza pie' is what Americans call their pizzas, but here I have taken the name because the the base climbs up the sides into a kind of tart or pie casing.
