Easy Toad In The Hole

Toad in the hole is a traditional English recipe of sausages surrounded by batter. It is a favourite in our house and is made often, especially on cold nights when you are looking for something warm, delicious and filling.

Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 55 minutes
Serves: 4

8 sausages
200 g plain flour
1 1/3 cups milk
2 large eggs
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp garlic powder
2 tbs oil

Preheat oven to 220C.
Add the oil and sausages to a baking dish and bake for 15 minutes or until sausages are browned.

While the sausages are baking, add the remaining ingredients to a bowl and whisk well until batter is smooth. Allow to rest until the sausages are browned.

Remove baking dish from the oven and pour the batter over the sausages. Bake for 35 - 40 minutes until the batter has puffed and become golden.
