Doughnut French Toast

This breakfast bake is perfect with lashings of maple syrup or add some berries for a fresh start to your day. Make a double batch and it is perfect for a lazy brunch with the extended family.

Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 45 minutes
Serves: 4

5 slices of white bread, cubed
4 eggs
1 cups milk
4 tbsp caster sugar
tsp salt
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp butter
1 tsp cinnamon

Preheat oven to 180 degrees (fan forced).
Lightly butter oven proof dish and scatter in the bread cubes.
In a large bowl, mix together milk, eggs, 2 tbsp of sugar, salt and vanilla.
In a small bowl mix 2 tbsp of cinnamon.

Pour egg mixture over bread cubes. Dot with butter and allow to soak for 10 minutes.

Evenly sprinkle cinnamon mix over the top.

Bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown and slightly puffed.
Serve warm with maple syrup or your favourite fresh berries.
