Holy moly these are amazing, this is the first time I made them so they are a bit messy but of so delicious. I was inspired after eating at a raw cafe and wanted to get into making raw desserts. This snickers slice is clean, raw, paleo and a healthy treat!

They make a great gift!

Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Fridge Time: 30 minutes
Makes: 12 servings

2/3 c raw unsalted peanuts
1 tbsp cocoa
2 tbsp shredded coconut
16 pitted dates
2 tsp coconut oil

The most delicious ingredients.

1/3 c kraft smooth peanut butter
1/3 cup natural peanut butter
1/3 cup raw unsalted peanuts

Peanuts three ways.

150g dark chocolate

Soak the dates and peanuts in a bowl of water for at least 30 minutes. Drain.

Dates and peanuts soaking. This makes it easier to blend.

In a blender mix the dates, peanuts, coconut, cocoa and coconut oil until its a thick chunky paste.

This may take a few goes.

You may need to stop and push down the sides.

Press the mix into a baking-paper lined tray.

Base! Press down firmly and evenly.

In a bowl mix the two peanut butters and peanuts, if the peanut butter is very stiff warm in the microwave for a few seconds.

Peanut over load.

Spread the peanut butter mix evenly on top of the base.

Peanut layer.

Lastly melt your dark chocolate on a low heat and pour over the peanut butter layer.

Place in the fridge and leave to set for at least 30 mins or until the top looks hard.

Thin layer of dark chocolate.

Remove from the fridge and take out of the tray.

Cut into squares and eat!

Healthy snickers slice.

Note: You can use any nut butter (such as walnut ) and nuts in this, I went with peanuts so its like a snickers bar. It is also not necessary to have different sorts of nut butter. I prefer natural peanut butter but the Kraft gives it a nice salty flavour.

To die for!

these raw snickers bars are really good. Only trouble is, it's hard to stick to only one piece.
This is yucky actually - Snickers Bars contain Pam Oil. Is there an alternative bar to use?

Did you actually read the recipe? There isn't snickers
Bars in it, the flavours are just the same.
I'm going to try and make these in a muffin tin. I might also use a food processor for the first layer. The big challenge will be eating only one a day. They look yummy!
Yes! I was thinking of making circle ones too and a food pressesor would be much easier I wish I had one! Enjoy.
How is this slice raw if it is using the baking chocolate on the top? Can you suggest another alternative than baking chocolate to use?
You can make your own chocolate.
Thanks Jac. You don't have a recipe for clean chocolate by any chance?
