Savory Diamond Cuts - Instant Maida biscuits

"Maida biscuits are an instant, easy and tasty snack item. It is usually prepared during Indian festivals like Diwali and Holi"

Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 30 minutes
Makes: 1 bowl


1 bowl of Maida flour
1/2 bowl besan
1/2 bowl wheat flour
1/2 tsp carom seeds (ajwain)
1/2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
1 pinch of turmeric powder (haldi)
1 pinch of red chilli powder
1 pinch of asafoetida (heeng)
Salt as per taste
Oil for frying

Mix the above ingredients in a plate and add 1 tsp oil in it.
Knead it well to make soft dough.

Make small balls of the dough and roll it into small chapattis.

Take a knife and cut the chapattis into diamond shape biscuits.

Now take a frying pan and deep fry the biscuits till it turns golden brown in colour.

Soak the oil in a tissue paper and transfer the biscuits in the air tight container, so that it remains crispy.
To make it more crispy add 1 tsp of hot oil while kneading.
The snack is now ready to be enjoyed with a cup of hot tea.
