Smartie Cookies

Home made cookies taste so much better than store bought cookies, these cookies look great, taste great and smell divine when baking. They are the perfect treat.

Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 12-15 minutes
Serves: 24

Ingredients
90 g butter, softened
90 g sugar
90 g brown sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg
180 g SR flour
1 cup Smarties

Method

Preheat oven to 150C. Grease and line 2 baking trays.

Cream the butter and sugars until light and fluffy. this should take about 5 minutes.

Whisk in the vanilla and egg until well combined, then fold in the flour.

Keep half the Smarties for decorating and pour the other half into the mixture and fold into the dough.

Roll teaspoonfuls of mixture into balls and place onto baking trays, allowing room for spreading. Decorate with remaining Smarties.

Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden. Cool on tray for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
