Spiced Buttermilk Drink

Spicy buttermilk is an easy and healthy drink. It is an instant energy booster and adding a little spice makes it a refreshing drink.

Earlier, spicy buttermilk was given as a welcome drink in most of the houses in Kerala. It is also served after heavy meals since it helps digestion. This hydrating drink is a perfect thirst quencher.

Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 0 minutes
Makes: 3 servings

Ingredients
1 cup yogurt
2 cups of water
2 sprig of curry leaves
Small piece of ginger
2 green or red chilli
4 shallots
Salt to taste

Method
Chop the shallots, ginger and chilli.

Blend yogurt along with chopped shallots, chilli, ginger and curry leaves in a mixer.

Then add water and salt and blend again to combine.

Transfer the drink to a bowl. Keep aside for 5 minutes.

Chill and Serve.
