Spiced Sweet Potato Chips

This is an easy sweet potato dish that can be served as a side or, as I like to eat it when I'm craving vegies, as a main. Full of flavour these chips balance nicely with a fresh dipping sauce such as sour cream.



Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 30 minutes
Makes: 2 servings

Ingredients
1 Large Sweet potato, cut into roughly 1-cm chips
1/2-1 Tbs Sunflower Oil
1/4 tsp Chili Blend Flakes
1/2 tsp Cumin
1/2 tsp Paprika
Salt and Pepper to taste

Method
  • Pre-heat oven to 200 degrees Celsius.

  • Cut sweet potato in half length ways then into chip lengths of roughly 1cm in width.



  • Mix sweet potato, oil, chili and spices in a large bowl until all chips are evenly coated.



  • Lay sweet potato on a baking tray covered in foil or baking paper. Be sure not to stack the sweet potato on top of each other or they won’t cook evenly.



  • Bake for 15 minutes then flip chips over. Bake for another 10-15 minutes until browned to your liking.

  • Serving Suggestion: serve warm with a side of sour cream
