Spinach and Beer Bread

This bread is so easy, healthy and delicious. Even if you don't like beer, you soon will.

Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 30 minutes
Serves: makes 1 small loaf

Ingredients
2 cups self raising flour
1/2 cup wilted spinach, drained
1/2 cup tasty cheese
275 ml pale ale
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons chopped, soft, fresh herbs
chilli finely chopped to taste

Method
  • Preheat the oven to 190 degrees. Grease and line a 10 cm x 25 cm loaf pan.
  • Sift the flour and salt into a large bowl.



  • Put the cheese, herbs, salt and pepper into the bowl and stir to combine.
  • Form a well in the centre, pour in the beer, then add the spinach, herbs and chilli. Combine well with a spoon until it forms a thick, sticky ball of dough.



  • Press the dough into the pan and smooth over the surface so it is even throughout.



  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
