Starbucks Style Gingerbread Latte at Home
If like me you are addicted to Starbucks then why not try recreating one of their coffee beverages at home. Most of their cafes have a product section selling coffees, mugs and syrups. Today I purchased the Gingerbread flavoured syrup. Some days you just want a cheaper Starbucks coffee without having to leave the house. This is the nearest solution I have found.
Ginger Bread Flavoured Syrup from Starbucks
Preparation Time: 3 minutes
Cooking Time: 2 minutes
Makes: 1 serving (or as many as you like)
Ingredients
Nescafe Café Menu Latte
Starbucks Gingerbread Syrup
Ground cinnamon (or your favourite topping e.g nutmeg, chocolate or hazelnut)
Method
Pop the kettle on with enough water for the number of cups/mugs you are making.
Take a sachet of Nescafe Café Menu Latte and pour it into your favourite mug.
Box of latte sachets
To get the best results use either a mini whisk or a battery powered coffee whisk.
Once the kettle has boiled leave it for at least a minute. Boiling water makes coffee bitter so it's best to let it cool down a bit.
After a minute fill the mug half way with water.
Thoroughly whisk the powder and water for about 30 second ensuring no lumps are left.
Then fill the mug up with more hot water and add 2 caps full of the gingerbread syrup. Whisk again briefly.
Dust off with your favourite topping. I used cinnamon and chocolate powder.
This is the most important step. Sit back, relax and enjoy! Here is a close up of the froth.
