Steak Sauce 2 Mushroom Sauce

Simple but full of flavour, this sauce gets its depth by reducing the stock with the mushrooms and red wine.

Preparation Time: 2 minutes
Cooking Time: 18 minutes
Makes:2 servings

Ingredients
1 Portobello mushroom
300ml beef stock
50 ml red wine
30 ml Cream
Salt and freshly ground black pepper (to taste)


Method
  • Slice mushroom.
  • Place a little oil in a pan, sauté mushroom gently for a few minutes.
  • Add red wine and reduce by half.
  • Add stock and continue to simmer until the sauce reduces and thickens slightly.


  • Add cream and black pepper and keep reducing slowly.
  • Correct seasoning and consistency, the sauce should be thick enough to cling to a spoon but not a glaze, and serve.
