Sugar Dairy Free Almond Cinnamon Porridge

Following a strict sugar and dairy free diet can be really challenging but this tasty porridge will get you set up for the day and keep you feeling fuller for longer. Adding fresh ginger gives a welcome zing!

Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 10 minutes
Makes: 2 x servings

Ingredients
50g porridge oats
175ml almond / soya milk
175ml water
Handful chopped almonds
Good sprinkle of cinnamon
Sprinkling of chopped fresh ginger

Method
  • Put the oats in a saucepan.
  • Add milk and water and bring to the boil.
  • Reduce the heat and simmer for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally to ensure that the oats do not stick to the bottom.
  • Serve with a handful of chopped almonds and a good sprinkle of cinnamon.
  • If you prefer even more flavour you can jazz it up with some chopped fresh ginger for a zing to start the day.
