Sweet and Sour Sticky Chicken Cutlets

Finger licking good sticky chicken with a spicy kick.

Preparation Time: 1 hour and 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 45 minutes to 1 hour
Makes: 2 - 4 servings, depending on how many cutlets each person receives.

1 tbsp sesame oil
4 chicken cutlets
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup Chinese vinegar
1/4 cup spicy sauce
1 tsp garlic, crushed
Pinch of salt
Pinch of pepper


Place all of the ingredients in a bowl. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Mix through, ensuring the chicken is well coated.

Place the bowl in the fridge and allow to marinate for about an hour. This ensures that the flavour remains in the chicken once cooked.

Once marinated, place the chicken on a foil lined tray, and cook in a 180 degree oven fro around 45 minutes to an hour.

Once cooked, serve with rice and fresh steamed vegetables.

Don't worry Angela.Yesterday emailed a recipe to a friend who had asked for my flour-less orange cake. When I read through before hitting the send button, I realized I had omitted an ingredient ...easy done !... Ah well this is how most good recipes morph into something more interesting. Having said that, a friend once told me her mother in law , who was a great cook, always left out a vital ingredient when asked to share her recipes....Now THAT is sneaky ha ha!!!

Wow pandp. Harsh comment. Hope you were making a joke. If not we all make mistakes and you could simply write and ask politley about the discrepency. Not cool!!!

I do apologise, I am only human, it requires 1 tsp of sesame oil, which is added in Step 1.
This recipe pictures Sesame oil but Sesame oil isn't mentioned on the ingredients. Come on Angela, we're relying on you to give us a reliable recipe. I was thinking it looked worth a try, but now I can't trust it.
