Szechuan Noodles with Spicy Beef Sauce

This is a really delicious meal, and has an unusual flavour.

Serve it with a salad, vegetables, and I served it with my [link Pear, walnut

Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Serves: 2 - 3

Ingredients
250 g best beef mince
¾ cup onions, chopped
1 garlic clove, crushed
¾ tsp ginger, minced
Cayenne pepper, to taste -I used ¼ tsp
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 tbsp corn flour
½ to ¾ cup beef broth
2 tbsp Hoisin sauce
1 tbsp soy sauce
100 g pasta of choice
¼ cup spring onions, to garnish

Method
  • Cook the pasta slightly less than package instructions, and leave in hot water till needed, and then drain.

  • Brown the mince, stirring until it is crumbled - keep warm.
  • Make sure you break up the mince as it cooks


  • Put the sesame oil in the pan and heat. Cook the onion, garlic, ginger and cayenne until tender.

  • Mix the corn flour and beef broth.

  • Add the broth, hoisin sauce and soy sauce into the onion mixture.


  • Bring to the boil, stirring for a few minutes - you may need to add extra broth, so watch that it does not burn here.

  • Add in the mince, then the cooked pasta, and sprinkle with the sliced spring onions.
