Flavoured sugars are a great way of injecting a bit of flavoured fun into your breakfast, cake, meat or drinks. Rubbed over meats for a glaze, or sporadically tossed over some porridge, it makes for a more exciting bite.
Preparation Time: Overnight

Makes: 3 jars full
Ingredients
300g granulated sugar
1 vanilla pod
Half an orange
Handful of fresh mint

Required ingredients
Method
Peel the skin of the orange.
Place the peel in a processor and blitz with 100g of the sugar.
Pour on to a large tray and set aside.
Repeat process with the mint.
Pour the mint on to the tray.
Finally, do the same with the vanilla and final 100g of sugar.
Leave on a tray overnight until hard.
In the morning smash it up and put it in airtight jars.
With a little effort you've got flavoured sugars which will keep in the fridge/cupboard for a couple of months.
