Tofu and mushrooms in oyster sauce

A hearty tofu dish that is simple to make for an asian night at home

Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Makes: A dish to serve 4-6

100g minced pork
300g block cubed tofu - semi soft (bought at asian supermarket)
400g can button mushrooms (bought at asian supermarket or international section in coles/woolies)
1 red chilli, deseeded and finely chopped
1 garlic clove, finely chopped
1-2 stalk of chopped spring onions to garnish

(A) Marinade: prepare before cooking
1 tbsp light soy sauce
1/2 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp cornflour

(B) Gravy: prepare before cooking
tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp light soy sauce
1 cup water
cornflour solution to thicken (mix a little cornflour with water)

Mixed minced meat with marinated ingredients (A)
Heat wok till hot and add 2 tbsp oil
Fry chopped chilli, shallot, garlic until fragrant
Add marinated meat, breaking it into fine bits
Add mushrooms and Gravy (B) mixture and mix well
Add water
Gently mix tofu in with the mushrooms and meat
Thicken gravy with cornstarch solution
Transfer into a big serving bowl or plate or individual bowls
Garnish with spring onions and serve with rice

This is a very tasty dish and perfect to eat with rice because of its delicious gravy
