Tuscan Bruschetta

There are many variations on this classic, but nothing beats this simple and delicious appetizer from Tuscany that can be savoured all year round. Just be sure you pronounce it correctly (Bruce-Sketta). Enjoy.

Tuscan Bruschetta

Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 5 minutes
Makes: 6 servings

3 Roma Tomatoes diced
Handful of Shredded Basil Leaves
Teaspoon of Oregano
Salt and Pepper
1/2 Clove of Garlic (can be omitted)
Strips of Basil leaves to decorate
Loaf of Bread

Tomatoes, Basil, Oregano, Salt & Pepper

In a non-stick sauce pan place tomatoes, basil leaves, oregano, salt and pepper and warm through (do not over-cook) this process should take no more than 45-seconds.

Tomato Mixture

Slice the loaf of bread.

Thick sliced bread

Toast thick bread until slightly charred.

Toasting Bread

Rub Garlic over toasted bread (if you don't like the taste of garlic this step can be omitted)

Toasting Bread

Drizzle extra virgin oil over the garlic rubbed toast.

Spoon warm tomato mixture onto toasted bread.

Decorate with strips of basil.

Serve with passion.
