Vanilla and Chocolate Chip Cake Pops using a Cake Pop Maker

Cake pops are a fun and vibrant snack to have at a party or whenever you need a quick cake bite.



Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Makes: 24 servings

Ingredients
30g butter, melted
1/4 cup caster sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
1 cup milk
1 cup self raising flour
1/4 cup milk or dark chocolate chips

Decorate with melted dark chocolate, and hundreds and thousands.

Method
  • Plug in the cake pop maker and switch it on to preheat it.

  • In a microwave safe mixing bowl, melt the butter.

  • Add the sugar, egg and vanilla and whisk to combine.



  • Stir in half of the flour until just combined, then stir through half of the milk, then the remaining flour and milk until a smooth batter forms.



  • Fold in the choc chips.



  • Spoon teaspoons worth of batter into each of the cake pop maker holes.



  • Once filled, close the cake pop maker and cook for 8 minutes.



  • Remove the cake pop balls from the maker and allow them to cool on a wire rack or cake pop stand.



  • Cook the remaining batter.

  • Once the cake pop balls have cooled, melt extra dark chocolate in a bowl. One at a time, roll each ball in chocolate then sprinkle with hundreds and thousands. Pierce each with a lollipop stick and set aside to set.
