Looking for some quick and easy party food or a yummy lunch? These will provide a delicious bite-sized flavour combination your taste buds will love. They are very easy to make, and no one will know they're made out of soy mince, until you tell them!

Preparation Time: 40 minutes
Cooking Time: 25 minutes
Makes: 30 Gyozas

Ingredients
1 packet Gow Gee wrappers
1tsp sesame oil
1 cup shredded cabbage
1tsp minced garlic
1/2tsp ground ginger
1 tin of Sanitarium Casserole mince, drained of gravy
1tbsp soy sauce
1/4 cup water
1 spring onion
2tbsp peanut oil
1/4 cup water

Method
  • Heat sesame oil in a frypan. Add cabbage, soy mince, ginger, and garlic. Fry for 1-2 minutes whilst stirring. Add in 1/4 cup of water and soy sauce, and simmer until it has reduced - approximately 5 minutes.

  • Once this is done, transfer mince mixture into a bowl and allow to cool. You can use the same frypan for the cooking of the gyozas, you might just need to wipe out any excess mince/cabbage that is left.

  • To make the gyozas, put a small amount of water along the sides of your Gow Gee wrapper and fill 1tsp of mince mixture into the middle.

  • Fold wrapper in half and then pleat the edges to get the desired look.

  • Fry the dumplings on each side (starting with the bottom and then both sides). Add the next 1/4 cup of water gently into the pan and put a lid on it.

  • Steam the gyozas until the water has evaporated.

  • Serve with soy sauce and spring onion.
