Ingredients for the Batter 1 cup idly rice (you may take any rice of your choice)
1/4 cup Bengal gram (chana dal)
1/4 cup green gram (moong dal)
1/4 cup pigeon peas (toor dal)
1/2 cup black gram (urad dal)
1/4 cup flattened rice (poha)
Soak the above ingredients of 7-8 hours
Ingredients for Filling
Finely chopped vegetables such as French beans, carrot, capsicum
Boiled sweet corns
1/2 tsp mixed herbs
1/4 tsp Black pepper powder
1/2 cup cheese of your choice
2 tsp butter
Salt as per taste
Preparation of Batter and filling
Grind the lentils, rice and flattened rice in a blender to make a fine paste and keep it aside for 30 minutes.
Mix all the chopped vegetables and corns in a pan and add butter to it for the flavor. Stir it till it is half cooked.
Add cheese, mixed herbs and a pinch of salt and blend it nicely with the half cooked vegetables.
Preparation of Dosa
Take a flat pan, pre-heat it for few seconds.
Pour the batter on the pan and spread it from center towards out to make a circle.
Sprinkle some butter on it, to make it crispier.
Add the above mixture of vegetable to it and spread it on the dosa.
When the dosa starts turning golden brown in color, fold it to make a triangle shape.
Serve it hot with tomato sauce or chutneys. You may present it differently for the kids. For them, you may make small dosa's and spread the vegetables on it and serve it to them like a pizza, for them to love it even more.
