Vegetable Sandwhich with White Sauce

Vegetable sandwich made with white sauce is an instant, healthy and tasty breakfast. My son loves it a lot and enjoys having them.

Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Makes: 5-6 servings


1/4th cabbage
1 medium sized carrot
1 Capsicum
2 tsp multipurpose flour
1 cup milk
1 tsp butter
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp mixed herbs
1 pinch salt


Steps to prepare White Sauce

Take 1 tsp butter in a frying pan and heat it till it melts. Then add 2 tsp of multipurpose flour in it.
Add 1 cup milk and stir it continuously to avoid the formation of the balls.
Add a pinch of salt and mix it till it forms a white colour paste and the white sauce is ready for the sandwich.

Preparation of sandwich

Chop cabbage and capsicum into small pieces.
Grate 1 carrot and mix it with finely chopped carrot and capsicum.

Add mixed 1/2 tsp of mixed herbs in the in the white sauce. Mix the chopped vegetables in the white sauce in the pan and stir it for 5 minutes.

Now spread this mixture between the 2 slices of bread and keep it in the sandwich maker. Keep it for 2 minute and serve it hot with tea, coffee or milk.
