Vegetarian Budda Mushrooms in Oyster Sauce

These beautiful fresh plump shiitake mushrooms taste velvety and delicious. It is a great vegetarian dish for all occasions. You can find these gorgeous mushroom in all leading Asian supermarkets.

You can substitute with button mushrooms or portabello mushrooms.

Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 10 minutes
Makes: 4-6 servings



Ingredients
300g fresh shiitake mushroom
100g steamed broccoli florlets
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon potato starch flour
1/2 cup water
Salt and pepper

Method
  • Gently rinse the mushrooms and pat dry on paper towel.
  • Heat oil in a deep pan on medium high heat.
  • Add the mushrooms into the smoky pan.



  • Season with oyster sauce, soy sauce, sugar and season with salt and pepper.
  • In a shallow bowl, dissolve the potato starch in the water.
  • Pour the liquid into the pan



  • Reduce heat to low and allow it to simmer
  • Braise until all liquid is reduce and thicken.



  • Add in the shallot.
  • Season with more oyster sauce if required.
  • Arrange steamed broccoli around the plate.
  • Serve the braised shiitake mushrooms at the center.
  • Garnish with roasted red pepper and sesame seeds.



  • Serve Hot.

    A great winter warmer dish.
