Walnut And Stilton Tear Share Buns
Great for tearing and sharing around the table with friends and family.
Preparation Time: 2 hours
Cooking Time: 45 minutes
Makes: 1 loaf/4 large buns
Ingredients
400g wholemeal bread flour
100g rye flour
200g stilton cheese
200g walnuts
400ml water
7g fast action yeast
½ tsp salt
Method
Break up the walnuts.
Mix the walnuts with the flours, yeast, and salt.
Gradually add water to form a dough.
Knead for ten minutes and then prove for 1 - 1 ½ hours.
Divide the dough into four.
Chop the stilton into cubes.
Roll out the first piece of dough and line ¼ of the stilton on top.
Roll up the dough like a sausage, and then roll it up into a swirl.
Repeat the process with the the three other pieces of dough.
Place the four dough balls next to each other on a baking tray and leave to prove for another half hour.
Bake in an oven pre-heated to 220 & #3872 ;C/ 200 & #3872 ;C fan/400 & #3872 ;F/6 Gas.
