White Chocolate Grand Marnier Truffles
These chocolates taste amazing. Make an extra batch as they are likely to disappear very quickly. Perfect as a gift.
Preparation Time: 40 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Chilling Time: 2 hours 30 minutes 30 minutes
Makes: 40 chocolates
Ingredients
60g unsalted butter
3 tablespoons thickened cream
150g milk or dark chocolate, chopped
2 tablespoons Grand Marnier
1 teaspoon finely grated orange rind
300g white chocolate
chocolate sprinkles or chopped nuts
Method
Combine butter and cream in a medium saucepan and bring to boil over medium heat.
Remove from heat.
Stir in the milk/dark chocolate, Grand Marnier and orange rind. Continue stirring until smooth
Pour truffle mixture into a shallow dish and chill in the fridge until firm - approximately 2 hours.
Line a baking tray with baking paper or aluminium foil.
Shape chilled truffle mixture into small balls
Place onto prepared baking tray and chill until firm (approximately 30 minutes).
Melt the white chocolate in the microwave. Start with 45 seconds, then additional 20 seconds, until the chocolate has melted.
Drop the truffles, one at a time into the melted chocolate mixture.
Using 2 forks lift the truffles from the chocolate and allow any excess chocolate to drip back into the pan.
Place the chocolate onto a baking tray and sprinkle the balls with chocolate or nuts.
Chill in the fridge until set.
